Easter weekend updates

A few quick updates for Easter weekend.
Tatum and I made Pioneer Woman's Knock You Naked Brownies.
they were yummy!!!!!!!
Tatum licked the bowl and got some on her nose.
my little helper

Then we colored eggs.
Here is all of our pretty colors
and our colored eggs
I took lots of pictures of the kids coloring eggs and of their baskets,
but I haven't downloaded them yet.( sorry)
My mom and step dad came down on Easter. We had ham and cheesy potatoes, which was yummy and filling. The kids had fun and played outside. Tatum and Ollie played with their sidewalk chalk and Tatum had my mom doing the hop scotch.
It was a really nice weekend even though I had to go to class on Saturday.

Josh is on Spring Break this week and we have been doing lots of things around the house. Today we spent most of the day outside in the yard. We tore out one flower bed and planted flowers in another. Tomorrow we are going to mulch. I love to do work outside. However today it was cold and I think my face got a little wind burnt. I will update and show you some pictures of our flowers and plants when we are done, we might even get some painting in too. If I get the Easter pictures downloaded, I'll share them as well. I have not had a chance to be on the computer much this weekend and my laptop is broke. I won't have her back till next week, so I may not be on her much .Plus I have lots of reading for class. Petey starts flag football this week. This is a busy busy week. I'll try to get a What I Wore post on here tomorrow. I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend.

February is here.

February is such a cute little month.
Its full of hearts and Love.
Its never been my favorite month, but I always liked decorating my box for valentines and of course making valentines for all my classmates.
as an adult, I have not really paid that much attention to valentines day.
no special dinners or anything
However, Valentines Day is Tatum's favorite holiday, it might have something to do with the fact that pink is her favorite color and she loves hearts and crafts, ect.
but maybe we do need a little extra love in this winter time.....
because after all you need is love.

a new year

Hello everyone. I hope the new year is finding you well. I feel like the new year is starting off right. I don't like to make resolutions because we often make them unattainable and too abstract. The goals that we list for ourselves are usually too long to commit to all at once.
However, I do love the new year. I love to start fresh, wipe the slate clean. It is never to late to be who you want to be. If you want to make a change, the best way to start off the new year is with a lifestyle change.
Well, I haven't made a life style change yet, but I did take winter quarter off of school. I realized that I have been going strong for seven quarters now without a break. I have this drive to finish, finish, finish.
However, I felt that I needed to devote more to to my family right now, more time with my kids. They are only little once and this time seems to be flying by right now. I think I need to devote a little bit more time to myself as well.
I maybe ready to go back before spring quarter starts, but I think that this is a much needed break.

I also intend to start posting on here more, again. If you look back through the years, some years I post a lot and others I don't. Last year was not a big year of bloging for me. Every time I think its time to shut the blog down, I look back through the years and I just don't have the heart to do it. It is like a journal of all the things I love. So look forward to more posts this year as well. I also tend on updating Ollie's blog more.

suprise ...

I am here. I didn't mean to take a little break, it just happened that way. I have taken a few of these this year. Don't worry, I have not abandoned my blog. There has been lots of things happening lately and I think my blog has become a little stale. I started out blogging about my kids and keeping family up to date with what was happening here. The blog has morphed a little from time to time since I started in 2007 ( fashion, home furnishings, crafts and organizing). Well, I don't think I am officially back yet, I probally will not be back till the first of 2012. The blog will have a fresh outlook for the new year! I really just wanted to tell everyone Happy Holidays! I hope that you get everything under the tree that you are wishing for.

If you miss me, I will be on Tumblr, and Pinterest.

I'm back!!!!

July was very busy and it just flew by!
With school starting, August may very well be the same thing.
I will work very heard to stay up to date.
Some of the things that you have missed have included a much needed vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, which I promise to share, and a wedding that Tatum and Petey were lucky enough to be the flower girl and the ring barer. Right now I would like to share the wedding.

Josh's cousin Colt was married at a beautiful garden July 22.
It was a beautiful wedding, although it may have been on the hottest day of the year!

here is my beautiful girl.
her beautiful hair was curled, but fell flat before she even got there.

and here is my handsome son, Petey

such a cutie!

They both did a wonderful job!

I am so proud of them!

vacation pictures and stories to come...

catching up!

I have not been blogging on any kind of regular basis this year!
There has been lots of things happening since the start of this year.
A couple of things to catch up on ....

Tatum had her Parents day program at school ....
she was a pig and it was so cute. she is the one in the middle there with purple on.

here's my girl!

here is Tatum and her daddy.

On her second to last day of school, the preschool took a pretend "trip" to Greece. They had an airport, plane and hotel set up inside the school and a pool set up outside for the beach. Yep she got to go swimming!
Tatum had a great time.

here she is coming home, suitcase and all.
they even made a passport for everyone that now has a stamp in it!
(there was less then a week between the last two pictures ... our weather has been crazy!)

Well Tatum is now down with school for the year, she finished three weeks earlier then her brothers... much to their disappointment!

The preschool had an end of the year picnic for all students and their families.

here is Tatum heading to the picnic.

finished eating.

big brother Ollie got to come to part of the picnic too.
( he is telling me he doesn't want his picture taken)

Ollie got his first cast off at five weeks and got a new one put on. He has to wear that for two more weeks, which means Ollie only has a little over three more days in a cast!
HUGE SIGH

Here he is in his new cast and holding the old one.
Yes, he wanted to bring it home.
He was pretending to be an elephant and using the old cast as a trunk while he was sitting there.

The boys have less then two whole weeks left of school!!!!
I couldn't be happier to have summer vacation start!

Van got a new computer game for his computer and ALL three of my boys have become quite obsessed with this game!

I was in a Greek play, Bacchae for my class last weekend. I played Agaue.
 via Wikipedia
It was outdoors and we were rained on a little.
I am shy and not very good at getting up in front of people, but I think I did alright, at least that is what everyone told me, haha.
I know that there was some pictures taken, If I get a hold of any, I will share.

Josh's birthday was last weekend!
I won't tell you how old he is because he is younger then me, by two years...

We spent the weekend at here at home.
Happy birthday, I love you!
I also had a GREAT Mother's Day!
I got breakfast in bed.
Van wrote me poem. Van and Tatum sang to me.
Van and Petey put on a play for me.
I got lots of hugs and kisses!
It was a happy day.

purple purse Mother's Day cake.

Stuck!

Yep! That's me, stuck in a rut! I'm sorry for the lack of posts lately ... I am not sure what to post about but, don't worry I will be posting back to normal soon.
Mostly, I have been taking care of a little boy with a broken leg, 3 weeks ago tomorrow, and reading lots and lots of Greek mythology....for my class I am taking this quarter; add this on to well ... LIFE and I have been rather busy.

where I have been

I have been gone for a little while, and the reason is Ollie broke his leg last Thursday night.
He had just got out of this night night bath and was in his room by himself.

Ollie in the ER Thursday night

I was in the kitchen with Petey. Then I heard Ollie yell, "mommy help, mommy help".
I ran up stairs to find Ollie rolling around on the floor.
He calmed down as soon as I got there.
He told me his foot hurt and wanted me to kiss the bottom of it. ( his boo boo)

Ollie on Friday, he had just got his cast on. He picked the orange color.

It took me a minute to understand that his leg was hurt too, but as soon as I did, we took him to the ER.
Ollie told me that he stepped on a toy and fell.

here is Ollie with his wheel chair that he got yesterday.

He is already stir crazy and tired of laying and sitting around!
He went back to school today. I can't wait to see how well he did.
This will be a very long six weeks.

I'm here!

Sorry I took a little bloggy break, I didn't mean to. Here is what I have been up to. Going to class and writing a paper( so happy the quarter is almost over). I got a spray tan...which I don't like and I wonder why the sun's rays are not good for you! Last Friday, Josh and I took the children out to eat and headed to our favorite family clothes store: Old Navy( I scored an awesome cardigan).
Saturday we took the kids out to eat at Frickers ( our favorite family restaurant).
I have some stuff to share that will be coming up soon, like our bedroom remodel. I have some organizing posts to catch up on too, so stay tuned.

I also started a new blog about Ollie and autism.

Blue Jackets

Last Saturday, Josh took me to a Columbus Blue Jackets game. It was the first hockey game that I had been to.
I had a blast!

I told Josh there was just one sporting event that I went to that was more exciting then this and that was the Ohio State game we went to!

Good bye Grandpa

My Grandpa passed away yesterday.
He was 87.
It wasn't that big of a surprise, Grandpa had not been doing well for a while. He had been living in a care center for the last couple of months.

Here is Grandpa's WWII picture.

I remember lots of things about my grandpa, but what I remember most is how he loved to talk about hunting.
Grandpa loved to hunt deer and was full of stories.

Here is my Grandpa as a child
notice his curly hair, Grandpa loved that Ollie had curly hair too.

Here is Grandpa walking my mom down the isle.

Grandma and Grandpa with my mom and dad.

Grandma and grandpa where there for my wedding day too.

Last summer, my kids and I were out at my grandparents farm, my grandpa looked at Tatum and told me she looked just like me at her age. (she's four)
He told me he remembered the day my dad took me out to the field where me grandpa was farming. We stopped to say hi. I was sitting on the tractor with grandpa and it was time to go back to the house to eat lunch. I didn't want to get off the tractor and I kept jumping up and down saying I wanted to stay with Grandpa Ben. So grandpa took me back to the house on the tractor and he drove real slow. ( That probally would not happen today) Some of my best memories from my childhood were spending time on my grandparents farm.

I love you grandpa!
