getting real

Let's get real for a minute, I HATE pictures of myself.

It's true. 

I never like the way I look.

In my mind and in the mirror I think I look one way, then I see myself in a picture and I look another.

I hate it. I am just one of those people that do not look good in pictures. 

It is not just weight either ,( I typically think that I look like I did before I had my first child.)

Haha

It is also my hair or makeup, or a combination of the two.

I style my hair in the mirror and I love it. Then I see a picture of it and it doesn't look like the same hair.

I probably took at least five if not ten pictures just to get a picture I like.

Am I crazy? yes probably.

I didn't even want to post the pictures of me in my last post, but I did.

I am always making funny expressions or have one eye squinted too.

This shop makes a bubble statement necklace much like the Jcrew one.( like the one in my last "What I Wore" post.

Actually the inspiration picture that I used for that post is from Ily Couture as well.

Anyway, these necklaces are beautiful.

Salt Scrub

The other day I saw a post from Wattle Bird on how to make your own salt scrub .

So I did a little searching on line and found a few ways of making your own salt scrub, here, here,  here, and here. I also looked into buying my own and the cheapest I found was $30. So I deiced to try and make my own too.

Here is what I decided to use:

Even though there was many opinions about what salt to use, I used regular salt. I also used plain old peanut oil. To give it a scent, I used Vanilla extract. 

I used the measurements on the side of the jar. I filled the jar up 3/4 with salt then added the oil and mixed it up. Then I  added a little vanilla. 

I have already used it. It looks and feels great.

Fall nail polish

Have you been looking for a new nail polish for Fall?

The other day I was thinking that I needed a new color. I clicked on Essie's site and I saw their new Fall collection. I love every new color!

I guess if I had to pick a favorite it would be power clutch or lady like but I really like very structured too, it feels very Fall-like.

Have you tried any of the new Fall colors? Which ones do you like?

The month has arrived!

March is here! March has always been on of my favorite months. The first day of spring is in March. St. Patrick's day is in March ( who doesn't love wearing green?)

My birthday is also in March.

March 14.

This year I will be 36.

Yep, 36. I can't believe it.

I have found that I am dreading that day.

I can feel my youth slipping away.

I feel like its time to make some changes in my daily routine.

I have been washing my face with Noxzema and using Clean and Clear astringent since, I don't know, PUBERTY.

I suddenly feel like this is not enough.

Remembering that my mom always used Oil of Olay when I was younger, I went to their site today.

I used their skin care consultant to figure what I would need to start using (I am pretty much starting from scratch here).

Here is my results:
