Thanks! Yes I did do the letters by hand. I practiced about a hundred times before I did the actual board though.
Not sure if you guys have a Micheal's Crafts up your way but that is where I got everything. The pre-cut boards were only $1.59 each and the spray paint was $3.00 for the orange. I just used paint I already had for the polka dots. As far as the paint for the letters I used a wood marker and it worked GREAT (I found it in the wood craft isle)! My tip on the polka dots would be to make a stencil for the circles and use a paper towel or sponge to dab on the paint. I tried free handing them and also tried using a paint brush with the stencil and niether looked good at all. Maybe you have a steadier hand and could free hand them...I could not. Also I found that acrylic paint does not work so well.
I think I am going to try to make an Ohio State one too.
Grayce and I are off to Craft 2000 now, and I am gonna see if the prices on the items needed are cheaper there...I am guessing they will be. I will let you know.
