Charleston Falls

Last Saturday we went on a walk at Charleston Falls nature reserve.
We really had a good time.
It was a spur of the moment kind of thing.
During our walk Van told us that "this is better then being on the internet"!
I say, yeah for that. :)

(sorry the pictures are not very good, they were taken with my phone.)

Frickers Fun!

On Thursday night, Josh and I took the kids out to eat at Frickers ( it is a local chicken wings place) to eat for our Anniversary Celebration.

Carrot Cake

to celebrate the new line, Shabby Apple blog is having a contest and giveaway....

post your favorite pie recipe and you could win.....

"The winner will receive a complete set of Domestic Art notecards for a total of 15, one for each of the completed paintings in Leslie's series, all hand-signed, titled and individually sleeved, PLUS a 20 x 30" hand-finished and signed giclee print of the Domestic Art painting of their choice".

here is a print by Leslie Graff....

and here is my pie...

This pie is one of my favorites because I used blackberries from my grandparents farm to make it. My cousin Lisa and I would pick all of grandma and grandpa's wild blackberries. We would eat them till our bellies were full. We would spend time running around on the farm during the summers. Blackberries always make me think of summers when I was little.

Blackberry pie

Chilled Blackberry Pie

3 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. water
3 1/2 tsp. blackberry Jello
4 c. fresh blackberries
9 inch baked pie shell
Cook cornstarch, sugar and water until thick. Stir in Jello until dissolved. Cool filling. Gently stir in blackberries. Put in pie shell. Chill and serve with Cool Whip.

Birthday **REPOST**

This is Ollie's birthday post from last year.
I was thinking of this post last night and I wanted to share it again.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLLIE!
I am so proud of you and I am so proud that you are my son!
I LOVE YOU!
Five years and one day ago Oliver O'Neil was born. We lived in Coshocton. Van was 3 and Petey was 1 2/2 years old. Josh was working at the Salivation Army and getting his Masters degree, and I was a full time student.
Ollie arrived at 10:30 pm, on a Friday.
He came home on Sunday only to go back to the hospital on Wednesday because of jaundice.
He came home again on Friday, 1 week after he was born.
When Ollie was born, he was really tiny and his feet were really chubby and so were his toes!
3 weeks after his 1st birthday we moved to Virgina, Josh got his first teaching job.
Ollie has lived in two states and four cities.
Ollie was the baby for two years till his sister came.
These were the things I was thinking about as I looked through old pictures of Ollie for this post.
I have picked out a small amount of my favorites to share.
Ollie's birthday party was yesterday and I will share his party later.
Mommy and Ollie at Lake Park, spring 2005.
