It's Friday, I'm In Love

The boys had fun at field day this year, of course when I asked Van what he won his first place ribbon in, he told me he "can't remember."

Sherman & a birthday cake

On Friday, Petey had pet Show and Tell. He wanted to bring Sherman. So, an hour before school was out, Ollie, Tatum and I loaded Sherman up and headed to the school. It was raining. The raining stopped just long enough for us to show the pets (they were all outside).

Sherman did very well.

He was friendly to everyone, animals and people alike.

I didn't get any pictures of Petey showing Sherman because we were one of the last ones to go and we had to hurry because school was almost out!

Petey & Van's reading banquet

Petey's reading banquet was on Monday night. He got to eat pizza and ice cream with other first graders and the principal and first grade teachers. Then I got to come in and watch a slide show of pictures of the first grade class taken over the year.

Petey is wearing his reading t shirt that he earned. 

Petey had to read 10 envelope ( 25 book per envelope) to be invited to the banquet.

Petey is now on envelope # 13.

Van's reading banquet was on Tuesday night.

he wasn't happy about having his picture taken!

He didn't want me to walk him in because that was "pre-schoolish" he said. When did my boy get so big???

Van didn't have to read books, in second grade, they test your reading comprehension. There is a reading program that they use on the computer. They read passages and answer questions. Then the children receive points.

I had to bring all the kids in for Van's slide show. They were all very good!

Petey's tree

for Arbor day, Petey got a little pine tree from school. It had a little note with it...it said something like take a picture of me and three and watch us grow. When I graduate from high school take another picture of me and the tree and see how much we have grown. So here is Petey and his tree. I hope it makes it. Well put it in the ground when it gets a little bigger. The tree Van got last year didn't make it, but it was a  lot smaller then Petey's.

my Mother's Day presents

Friday, when I picked the kids up from school, I was handed lots of Mother's day presents.

Flowers from Van, he made himself.

He told me he picked all my favorite colors.....and he named them pink, blue, brown, green & black.

yes Van, they are my favorites. 

He also asked me if I was going to cry and with that I turned around to show him I was already crying!

He shook his head and rolled his eyes at me.

Vanny also rolled his eyes at that but Petey just grinned from ear to ear.

Saturday, my husband sent me to get a pedicure.

We traveled to our hometown Friday night so,

Sunday I got to see my Mommy and my Grandma.

Sunday is Mother's day and in a few short hours, we will be headed on our way to our home town. Mom, I will see you soon. You taught me to accept everyone and judge people on a person by person basis. You taught me to be strong and independent. You taught me to be caring and kind. Thank You for everything Mom.

beautiful day

yesterday was a beautiful day.... Tatum and I went on a walk with grandpa Ron while the boys were in school.

and, it was just so nice, that after school we headed back to the playground...

Milo likes to curl up on the steps during the day. Yesterday, Tatum gave him Barbie's pillow and blanket to make him more comfy. She said he was cold.
