I am off to buy my books today, my first class is Saturday.
I am not sure if I am ready to start back to school, but 8am Saturday morning I will be.
Have you seen Colin Quinn: Long Story Short?
When I watch this, it makes me think of all the Classics classes that I have taken.
This is just the trailer, but if you haven't seen it, check it out.

Donovan turns 11
Eleven years ago yesterday I became a mother. I can't believe my oldest son is eleven. Where has the time gone?
yesterday was not a normal day, at least not a normal birthday
I was sick, Van had two ingrown toes nails cut out. ( he did wonderful, I am so proud of him!)
We did have cake and ice cream last night, but Van didn't want a big deal made of his birthday, no party or anything.
here is a quick picture of Van's cake.
Transformers.
looking back, here are some pictures of Vanny through out the years.
and grow.
so, even if my big boy doesn't want a big fuss, party and pictures and all ... I am so proud of you!
I love you Vanny!

cake batter rice crispy treats
I have found so many yummy treats on Pinterest. I found this one there as well!
These are so yummy!
here is the run down:
you need
3 Tbsp. butter
1 (10 oz.) bag of mini-marshmallows
1/4 cup yellow cake mix (the dry cake mix, not prepared into a batter!)
6 cups crispy rice cereal
1 (1.75 oz.) container of sprinkles
then you:
melt the butter in a sauce pan on the stove on low heat and add the marshmallows. When it starts to melt, add the yellow cake mix. Stir in the cereal and make sure it is completely covered in marshmallow goo. Then add half of the sprinkles into the mix. Press into a baking dish, then put the rest of the sprinkles on top. Let sit for 30 min, then enjoy.

Corona Popsicles
Corona Popsicles?!?
I don't normally talk about alcohol on here, mainly because I don't normally drink.
I am a mommy and a diabetic now, but before kids and health issues, I used to drink a few.
I loved to drink Corona, in fact that was about he only beer that I would drink.
I came across these on pinterest and they look so yummy... perfect for a hot summer BBQ.
Here is the run down:
- Corona
- Popsicle Mold
- Lime
What to do:Open a corona and pour it into a popsicle mold. You can squeeze some lime into mold and/or add a lime slice, if you’d like. Freeze for 2-4 hours or until it becomes solid. One bottle of corona makes around 3 popsicles.

m&m banana bread
I just made a loaf of m&m banana bread.
My son Van loves this bread.
I found this recipe in a magazine a long time ago, but they used chocolate chips.
I exchanged the chips for m&m's to make the bread more colorful.
you need:
3 overripe bananas
1 1/2 cups of flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
dash of salt
1 egg
1/4 cup butter or margarine
4 tbs milk- chocolate chips ( or m&m's)
pre heat oven to 325 degrees. Mash bananas in a large bowl. Add flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and egg.
melt butter in microwave, add it to the bowl, and stir until just blended.
pour into greased loaf pan. Sprinkle on chocolate chips. Bake for 70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
It's yummy.
